The third and final night of the 19th annual Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) has sadly come to a close. A sold-out crowd of over 400,000 fans came together at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for three beautiful nights celebrating music, art, creativity and self-expression.
The epic stages of EDC Las Vegas showcased the best in creative design and state-of-the-art technology including the circuitGROUNDS stage, which captivated fans with mesmerizing LED video panels, 452 lighting fixtures and six confetti blowers. Over 60,000 fans gathered at the kineticFIELD stage to witness the best performances in dance music. The 480-foot wide stage featured 6,500 video tiles, 400 tons of steel, two massive waterfalls and 15 confetti blowers. This year’s kineticFIELD was more than just a stage; it was an all-encompassing sensory experience.
Throughout the night, imaginative art cars weaved in and out of the crowd with theatrical performers riding aboard for a parade of color and sound. Traveling on the parade route were Insomniac’s signature Wide Awake and Boombox art cars as well as the 35 foot long Inchworm Art Car and the mutant vehicle the Inky Pacman Car.
Fans looking to celebrate love and friendship through fun or legal weddings visited the EDC Wedding Chapel. Seventy-four legal wedding ceremonies took place in the church building located in the humble district of EDC Town. The small EDC village came to life with realistic shops and stops sprawling about, as interactive employees staffed a movie theater, saloon, speakeasy and working post office.
During the EDC Live Stream broadcast on Yahoo, fans tuned in from around the world, witnessing everything from their favorite DJ sets to behind the scenes footage. Today’s live stream also aired on televisions across the country of Brazil as Insomniac announced that Electric Daisy Carnival will make its way to São Paulo for the first time December 4-5, 2015 at the Autodromo de Interlagos.
The EDC Live Stream brought many more surprises to home viewers as Kaskade spun a surprise guest set atop the Mayan Warrior Art Car, Martin Garrix joined Julian Jordan’s performance while Diplo DJ’d alongside 4B on the 7UP Stage. Surprise guests on Sunday night included Dillon Francis on cosmicMEADOW and Hot Since 82 at neonGARDEN.
Throughout EDC Week and the festival itself, winners of the first-ever EDC Week Charity Auction lived out their wildest dreams with once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as hanging out in a VIP Cabana with Pasquale Rotella and Holly Madison, making sushi with Krewella at Nobu and taking a selfie with Hardwell on stage. The auction raised approximately $70,000 for Culture Shock Las Vegas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to steering youth away from substance abuse, violence and hatred through performance art and dance. With the money raised, Culture Shock will be able to offer even more kids and teens a brighter future through dance and the creation life-long friendships.
We want to thank you once again for taking part in this exciting 3-day adventure and sharing your unforgettable experiences with the world. Insomniac’s summer festivals continue with Electric Forest in Rothbury, Michigan, June 25-28.
